Defy erasure. Protect history. Celebrate community.
Per Trump administration’s order, the pride flag at the Stonewall Monument was removed, only to be reinstated by New Yorkers in open defiance. Officials originally raised the pride flag on a separate flagpole before community members pushed for the flag to fly alongside the American flag on the same flagpole. Queer history is American history. It is a collective history. It is our people. Our stories. Our resistance. That does not change, whether it is 1969 or 2026.
We defy erasure.
We protect our history.
We celebrate our community.
