Art by Christopher Ikonomou (Xe/He)
Right before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, OutWrite participated in the early stages of a still-unnamed Community Issue, a print compiling pieces from all of UCLA’s newsmagazines. Unfortunately, the project fell through in Spring 2020.
As we approach two full years of COVID-19, I wanted to share what was once lost to the pandemic. This piece is a moment in time, created at an unprecedented crossroads. Witnessing these people now is symbolic of how much the pandemic has changed us, our identities, and our communities.
