sometimes you just need a queer friend in your life.
a queer friend that is always by your side.
someone that checks on you to see if you’re okay. someone that is always there to listen to your cries and hear your pain. someone that rides the emotional rollercoaster with you through love, heartbreak, and everything in-between.
a queer friend that validates your identity when it feels like the whole world disapproves.
someone that always has room for you to stay at their house when your family is unaccepting. someone that is there to talk about your crazy love life without judging.
a queer friend that sheds a little extra light when the closet gets too dark.
someone that makes you feel less alone and encourages you to come out when you’re ready. someone that reminds you that everything will be okay.
a queer friend that loves you for you — no matter who you are or who you love.
someone that not only accepts your identity but celebrates it and is along for the journey
as you discover the person you truly are. someone that appreciates you for simply existing in this world. someone that reminds you that you matter.
we all need that queer friend in our life.
even if you just have one queer friend, cherish them and don’t let them slip through your fingers.
cherish their smile, their energy, their light because that queer friend is very rare to come across.
and when you find them, please know that someone truly cares for you.
you are deserving of their love.
never forget that you are enough by just being your unapologetic self —nothing more, nothing less.
and if you haven’t found them yet, don’t worry. trust that they’ll appear when you least expect it but need them the most. when you find that queer friend and your two worlds collide, life is even more worth living.
that queer friend is not just a friend, they’re family.
chosen family.
