Silence

We were watching a movie,

And I had never felt more comfort

Than with your body next to mine,

With your arm around my waist.

 

Our bodies touched,

My heart fluttered,

And I was happy.

 

Happy, despite that

This would only be temporary.

Happy because, maybe,

Someone liked me,

After two years of silence.

 

You

Broke the silence

From within my heart.

 

You

Made my heart

Sing.

 

However,

You had different plans.

 

A week passed.

Not a single word was said.

That was an issue.

 

Then,

We saw each other again.

We hugged,

Talked,

Hugged.

 

Our bodies pushed against

Each other.

Our eyes met.

I felt as if our hearts were

Beating together.

 

I leaned in,

It appeared you did too.

But at the last second

You pulled away.

 

You had different plans:

To lead me on

To break me

To restore that silence.
